The current bundle of the week is a Gluten Free Bundle. I love the books included, and unfortunately am late posting this, so there is a link below, but no cool graphics.

My family has eaten gluten-free for over 10 years. When my son was born we were counseled to keep him off all gluten until he was 2. We did, but it didn’t prevent him from developing a gluten intolerance. We noted it first in his behavior. When we started to let him eat gluten, his crazy ADHD type behavior became more like bouncing off of walls and spinning until he made me sick. We took him off almost immediately and saw vast improvement. I believe that is one of the reasons we were able to keep him off of ADHD meds until now. We recently had blood work confirm that he is indeed gluten intolerant, and may develop celiac disease. This is enough to keep him gluten-free for life, and is the same test that prompted me to switch to a gluten-free diet 12 years ago. It takes about a year to get used to the diet without help, but it is worth the effort. I would be happy to help anyone get started if you like. It is much easier now than it was 10 years ago. The food quality has gotten better, the prices have gone down, and there are even books on it at the local library!

On a separate note, I got accepted on scholarship into an exercise/health boot camp. I will post before and after pictures. I found out later in the day, so I missed my first workout of the boot camp, but I will begin tomorrow. I am excited to have the group motivation, and to see how they model the boot camp so I can hopefully start boot camps of my own someday. I have a goal of losing 20-30 lbs. I would love to do Beachbody or P90X, but those are just too much for my current medical state. Hopefully this boot camp will be at a level where I can get back into shape and then tackle one of the harder programs. All of this is working towards my goal of becoming a Zumba/Yoga/Pilates instructor. I feel like I need to lose weight before I can counsel others on how to lose weight. That may be silly, but it is part of how I work, so I’m super excited.

I hope you are all working hard, feeling better and getting healthier!

I am a wife, mother and blogger. I love to share what I learn and am constantly learning. My family lives with an Aspergers child, chronic illness and constant financial issues. I blog about this and ways to make life fun and fulfilling in spite of it all. I also blog with Sublime Media Connections, Kate and Kaboodle and several other amazing blog teams. I love what I do, but I am human and often make mistakes, which is why my motto is "muddling through".
