I love movies. My husband and son love movies. We have to subscribe to Netflix so we don’t buy every film that comes out on DVD or Blu-Ray. So when Disney, Pixar and others come out with a family friendly movie, we count days until we either get to go to the theater, or can buy or rent the film. We also liberally use our local library to watch our favorites over and over. I can honestly say I’ve seen all the Ben 10 cartoon series at least 10 times, and I don’t watch a lot of t.v. like that. It is just one of my son’s favorites, so I got to watch it a lot with him. When I am sick and tired he gets movie time, and I am sick an tired a lot. Not my favorite parenting method, but we all do what we can.

So Madagascar 3 is coming. Go here to rate the preview

Another one I am excited to see is BRAVE. I love the heroine’s fiery red hair, and I’m a sucker for English, Irish and Scottish accents.  You can check out a fun preview here . . .

Finally in August, I get to see my most favorite form of production, which is live musicals. My son is the King of Hearts in Alice in Wonderland. He performs with Hollywood Kids Academy, and this will be his 5th performance. He has a lot of lines, and a major role at the end. It’s his first big role, and he’s nervous and excited and has it all memorized. He’s even working on the “voice” he wants his character to have. I am impressed with how much he has grown and matured in this program. You can check out their facebook page here https://www.facebook.com/HollywoodKidsAcademy, and their website is http://www.hollywoodkidsacademy.com. They are an awesome program. They build character, and best of all, every kid performs in every production so no one is sidelined.

My son started with dancing the main dances, and now gets to play a major role. I can’t wait to see him perform as a confident male actor in some of their amazing roles. He doesn’t know this, but he’ll be doing it until he’s 18 whether he likes it or not. So far he loves it, so we’re good. I love it, and his Dad is also highly involved. It is one of the highlights of our week, and one of the few things that even through illness and financial struggles we have maintained for him. I can’t thank his teachers and the other parents enough for their support when I was in the hospital or couldn’t be there. I know that they stepped in and mothered my son a lot when he struggled emotionally with his mother’s issues, and that they truly care for my son.

I am a wife, mother and blogger. I love to share what I learn and am constantly learning. My family lives with an Aspergers child, chronic illness and constant financial issues. I blog about this and ways to make life fun and fulfilling in spite of it all. I also blog with Sublime Media Connections, Kate and Kaboodle and several other amazing blog teams. I love what I do, but I am human and often make mistakes, which is why my motto is "muddling through".
