Avengers: Infinity War Thoughts From a Mad Titan

Damon First: Let’s start this off with I am a big fan of the comics and the infinity stones. I bought the Infinity Gauntlet Series when it first came out, I bought the Infinity Wars Series, and the Infinity Crusades when they came out and I wanted to see this . . . but I have to wait a whole year for this to end. Now to the movie. It was awesome, grandiose, dark, game-changing, and even fun every so often. You will love the interaction of characters in this movie. They are what I have waited for. No spoilers but here are few pairings I want you to think about.  Tony Stark (Billionaire, Playboy, Philanthropist) and Doctor Strange (Alpha Male Surgeon, Sorcerer Supreme) are fantastic and should not be left alone together. Thor (“I don’t get that reference.”) and Star Lord (nothing but references) should have had more time...

Captain America – Civil War or Iron Man is a Jerk

I took my son to the preview of Captain America – Civil War. He was so excited he was bouncing in his seat, and I couldn’t get him to stop until the movie started. He is 11 now, but he has watched superhero movies his whole life and loves them. We got to preview the movie in return for our honest review. This movie is PG-13 and earns that rating due to violent action scenes and mature themes. We have made the decision that when it comes to our child such movies are okay as long as they are set in a fictional world, and we always preview or watch the movies with him to make sure he understands what he saw and can put any scary or difficult situations in perspective. As there will be countless other children who see this film, I want other parents to understand that...

Star Wars: The Force Awakens – Passing the Torch

My family is a bit on the nerdy side. My husband loves all things Star Wars and collects Boba Fett everything. My son had Star Wars toys before he was born, and his first real word was “Palpatine”. When we took him to Disneyland for the first time, he was in love with Darth Maul and tried to hug him. (He was 2, and Darth Maul was having a hard time keeping a straight face.) So when I got the opportunity to preview and review Star Wars: The Force Awakens, I was overjoyed. Never mind that I have been sick since Thanksgiving, I was there! The new Star Wars movie was awesome! I am trying really hard not to give away anything because my husband and son have not yet seen it. I am super excited to go with them to the theater and enjoy their joy! The movie was...

Ant-Man – One Small Step for Marvel

Disclosure: We received two tickets to the Disney/Marvel Premier of Ant-Man in exchange for our honest review. As always, opinions expressed on this blog are my own, or that of my husband and kid. My wife brought me because I am a huge nerd that has read comics for a long time. I know what is going on and I get a lot of the references that she may miss. My wife is a good female presence and a bit of a nerd herself. Now we have a 10-year-old that has alternated attending with me or my wife to some of the movies and helped to review them. He is autistic, gifted, ADHD, and all sorts of a nerd himself. He tells us where the scary parts are and what parts are funny to a 10-year-old boy, which are weird spots. We love being able to attend and review movies...

Avengers: Age of Ultron – A Must See!

Disclosure: I was given the opportunity to review this movie in exchange for two tickets to the premier showing of Avengers: Age of Ultron. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commissions Guides Concerning the Use of Testimonials and Endorsements in Advertising. Regardless of the compensation I always offer my opinion on this blog and will only recommend products and services that I actually use. Thanks – Natalie Wahl – Author of Newswahl I have not blogged in a while because perfectionism has struck and made it so everything I start to write ends up sounding silly, but this is an easy article! If you have not seen the preview, it is a great movie, and you can check it out here!   I took my 10-year-old son to this movie. He and his father both wanted to go, but in the end he won, because Dad...

News Wahl received one or more of the products mentioned in the post below free for evaluation purposes, received compensation, and/or is an affiliate of one or more of the products, links and banners you will see on this site. Regardless, all opinions expressed are still 100% genuine. This is disclosed in accordance with the FTC 16 CFR, Part 255 Guides concerning the use of endorsements and testimonials in advertising. Thanks for reading  Natalie. My family was able to go to the 3D preview of Disney’s Frozen right before Thanksgiving. Unfortunately life happened, and I was unable to share with you all how amazing it is. Now it’s won a Golden Globe and is up for an Academy Award, everyone knows, but I still feel like sharing. I absolutely loved Anna and Elsa, the two princesses were adorable as children, and grew up into princesses that if I had a...

My Amazing Author Friend!

My great friend is a real writer. She doesn’t just share her life and thoughts, although that would be fascinating, she writes novels, and stories, and short fiction. She also writes delightful horror. I didn’t know horror could be delightful until I met her. She has a new book coming out. She also has an agent, and a publisher. She will have many books to come, but I am just sharing the cover art for this one, special novella right now. I can’t wait to read it! I hope you look her up. LIKE www.facebook.com/RagnarokPublications for updates and release information on Mercedes’ book! Isn’t the cover intriguing. I can guarantee the book will be even better, and I am lucky to know someone who is so kind and talented!

365 Days of Mickey Sweepstakes by Pixie Vacation

My family loves Disneyland. We would gladly go to Disney World, and the Disney cruises if we had the funds. When I first got sick, it was imperative to me that I take my son and husband to Disneyland and create great family memories. As my sickness has dragged on that wish to create memories has not waned, but our finances have prevented us from returning as regularly as I would love. We were fortunate to be able to take my son on two fabulous vacations to Disneyland, and we have great pictures, memories and family bonds from those visits. To us it truly is the “Happiest Place on Earth”. I would take my family back every year if I could. One day I may even get to take them over my birthday, which is the day after Christmas. I have always wanted to see Disneyland at Christmastime. Their...

Parenting Webinar from the InJoy and the Children’s Project

I have recently started a working/collaborative partnership with the group The Children’s Project. They have an awesome book, and their program has built my relationship with my son to a new level. It has also helped me to understand and nurture other relationships. I would highly recommend this webinar, and you can purchase a copy of the book on Amazon. It is an easy read, but packed with great practical advice and examples. I am still working my way through it, as I have to keep stopping to apply the principles and see how they work. So far it has been miraculous. My son has struggled with depression and anxiety, and using the principles taught in the book has really helped him to regain his confidence and happy demeanor. Please feel free to share this information with anyone and everyone. Their goal is to have a million people read the...

Gogobot Review

My husband and I went on our honeymoon to San Francisco. We would love to go there again for our 10th anniversary this year. So when I learned about gogobot I was anxious to see what new things a romantic trip for two might have to offer. We may also decide to bring our son so he can have the opportunity to see the areas near where his Dad grew up and where we were first a married couple. San Francisco has amazing museums and gardens that he would adore. Either way, it is a dream trip, and one that we will eventually take. I would definitely stay at the Palace Hotel. It is a gorgeous hotel with amazing gardens, beautiful rooms, and great reviews. According to reviewers, it has a heated pool on the 4th floor, which we would love to use, High Tea at noon every day, and...

November Starlooks Review

I got the beautiful Starlooks box in the mail earlier this month, but due to family drama forgot about it completely. This collection was a set of personalized, neutral eye colors that will look great for all my upcoming holiday events. There is also a fun tool to help prevent smearing of eye make-up and mascara that I have yet to master, but love the concept. I am terrible at putting mascara on. The final addition is a lovely gloss lipstick. I am not a lipstick person. I can never find the right shade, but Starlooks has consistently sent me shades that I love and will wear out. I have a birthday coming up, and we go on a date to a movie and dinner. These items will definitely be on my list to wear. Starlooks is also having a fabulous promotion for a few more days for their December...

Beautiful Sorrows Book Review

Beautiful Sorrows is a collection of short horror stories written by my great friend Mercedes Yardley. Like her stories she is a bit of a contradiction. She has three adorable children. Her oldest has special needs, and she is a warrior parent in championing him and getting him all the help he requires, but is also the most compassionate and giving mother that I have ever met. She is known to write with bunny ears on so her kids know to let her type. She can run in 3 inch heels to chase down her kiddos, but she is defined by her writing, her parenting and so many other things that it is very difficult to pin down one word to describe her. Her writing is the same. It is horror, but it is whimsical and different. She doesn’t have blood, guts and gore. Rather her books express human heartache...

Bricks 4 Kidz

Bricks 4 Kidz is a national company that teaches children pre-k to high school through Lego’s and Duplos. They offer summer camps, school programs, birthday parties and more. My husband is working there this summer, and I think I was just hired as a social media consultant, and possible special needs teacher, which would be totally awesome. My son goes to most of the summer camps with his Dad and adores them. He will build all day and then come home and build some more. I love it. He is with friends, creating and exploring and learning and growing. I even got into it and built a Star Wars vehicle all day today. It was a lot of fun. They take all ages and stages, and they are super sweet with the kids. It is a fun day, broken up by snacks, games and other activities between building an assigned...
