Ant-Man – One Small Step for Marvel

Disclosure: We received two tickets to the Disney/Marvel Premier of Ant-Man in exchange for our honest review. As always, opinions expressed on this blog are my own, or that of my husband and kid. My wife brought me because I am a huge nerd that has read comics for a long time. I know what is going on and I get a lot of the references that she may miss. My wife is a good female presence and a bit of a nerd herself. Now we have a 10-year-old that has alternated attending with me or my wife to some of the movies and helped to review them. He is autistic, gifted, ADHD, and all sorts of a nerd himself. He tells us where the scary parts are and what parts are funny to a 10-year-old boy, which are weird spots. We love being able to attend and review movies...

Nature’s Sleep Slippers Review

I am officially a Natures’ Sleep blogger, which makes me all kind of giddy. With a chronic illness I practically live in bed, and so anything that makes that experience better is one that I am anxious to try. This month I had the opportunity to check out their slippers. They have become my new house shoes. I used to walk around barefoot a lot, but it is winter and my feet get cold. I love the open toe design that got to choose, and I enjoy that they are sturdy enough to wear outside to take out the trash or simple things like that, but gentle and warm for my feet. Mine are a pale blue, which is a color that I love, and that matches most of my pajamas. I keep them by the bed, and am developing the habit of slipping them on whenever I get out...

Beautiful Sorrows Book Review

Beautiful Sorrows is a collection of short horror stories written by my great friend Mercedes Yardley. Like her stories she is a bit of a contradiction. She has three adorable children. Her oldest has special needs, and she is a warrior parent in championing him and getting him all the help he requires, but is also the most compassionate and giving mother that I have ever met. She is known to write with bunny ears on so her kids know to let her type. She can run in 3 inch heels to chase down her kiddos, but she is defined by her writing, her parenting and so many other things that it is very difficult to pin down one word to describe her. Her writing is the same. It is horror, but it is whimsical and different. She doesn’t have blood, guts and gore. Rather her books express human heartache...

Clipa Review and Giveaway

“HANDBAGS ARE LIKE ACCESSORIES, ONLY THE PRINT CHANGES” ~ Sara Rupiper Running around with my kids to sporting events, concerts, shows, and dinners means that I always have to have a handbag/purse by my side. My handbag is my saving grace it has everything from safety pins to snacks. My bags are constantly on the go and they take a constant weathering as they are set down everywhere. One thing I am very particular about as are many ladies is my handbag of choice! I purchase brand name bags because this is the one thing I like to treat myself to. What I do not like is setting my bag on the floor of a restaurant where people have spilled or do spill or there are possibility of those tiny ants marching across the floor into my bag! I do not like putting my hand bag on the floor while...

Pack It World Traveler System

Traveling is something that I used to fear, but now crave. We won an amazing vacation to Roatan Honduras, and I cannot wait to go!! I was super excited to receive the great Pack It World Traveler System Set from Eagle Creek to review. It is my favorite color, blue, and perfect for organizing for my special trip. I love being organized, and a am a bit OCD. Traveling will be simpler, and much more exciting with an organized suitcase to place everything in. I will also have more room to bring back souvenirs for my son. With an organized suitcase I hope to put everything in carry-on and save us money. Later this year I also hope to travel to Chicago to visit my sister. So many fun reasons to use these fabulous products, and now that I have them, I keep thinking of more.   No matter how...

Campus Book Rentals – Get your Textbooks Cheaper!

School starts for me today. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology that I spent 10 years earning. It took me 10 years because in between I got really sick, married, had a baby, and finished up everything online. I am currently half-way through the school part of my Master’s Program, and I have a goal to finish that before I am 40. 🙂 Since I plan to also be a Certified Health Coach, a Certified Life Coach, a Marriage and Family Therapist, and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, this is a lofty goal. The hardest part about graduate school is the lack of Pell grants and scholarships. Student loans will be the end of me if I’m not careful, which is why I love the service from Campus Book Rentals. I am a book lover, and like to hold my books, read them, mark them up and then use...
