Ant-Man – One Small Step for Marvel

Disclosure: We received two tickets to the Disney/Marvel Premier of Ant-Man in exchange for our honest review. As always, opinions expressed on this blog are my own, or that of my husband and kid. My wife brought me because I am a huge nerd that has read comics for a long time. I know what is going on and I get a lot of the references that she may miss. My wife is a good female presence and a bit of a nerd herself. Now we have a 10-year-old that has alternated attending with me or my wife to some of the movies and helped to review them. He is autistic, gifted, ADHD, and all sorts of a nerd himself. He tells us where the scary parts are and what parts are funny to a 10-year-old boy, which are weird spots. We love being able to attend and review movies...

Sleep and Fatigue

Hopefully it won’t take too much longer as our mattress is getting old. My son could really use a new mattress too. So, I bring up mattresses cause I think they’re cool and because fatigue is a huge part of my life. Sometimes there are nights and days where I cannot sleep because the pain is overwhelming and/or I am just to wound up. I have tried several types of sleeping medications, and techniques. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t. It just so happens that I have all kinds of sleep issues. I have trouble falling asleep. I wake up every morning between 2-4 and have a hard time going back to sleep, and then once I’m asleep...

The Blog Workshop #TBW

Disclaimer: I received free access to a workshop in return for my blog posts. As always, the opinions expressed below are mine and mine alone. I was not paid or asked to give a positive review. The Blog Workshop is a great site for bloggers and a wonderful way to build your creative skills and advance your blog. Their site has a great community of bloggers, plus workshops and study groups on every topic essential to creating a popular and even financially successful blog. I do not make money blogging, but there are perks, and what I love most is the interaction with other bloggers. In a world where we are not connected to families and neighbors as much, it is nice to find a community of supportive, helpful people who are in the same situation as myself. I blog on several topics, and at other sites, and enjoy engaging...

Kidecals – Personalized Kids Name Labels

*Disclosure: I received free product in return for this post. Kidecals are a great, new, waterproof label for all your kids stuff. With summer on the way we have swimming at the Y, Day Camps, travel to see family and friends and a host of other activities. All of our gear needs to be labeled so we can keep track of what is ours.I am currently volunteering at a local preschool and they have the same dilemma. Lots of kids, multiple activities, and a need to label everything. We are always searching for that elusive magic marker to make sure that nobodies stuff gets mixed up. (We seem to also always be searching for shoes). 🙂 Kidecals are a great option. Dishwasher, washing machine and dryer safe, they are perfect for almost any surface. Eventually marker fades or washes away. They are durable and can stick to almost any surface....

BellaVita iPhone Case Review

*This post reflects my own opinions and views. I received the product for review, but no other compensation. My opinions, as always, are my own and not affected by the companies or groups that I blog for. BellaVita iPhone cases are beautiful, and come in a variety of sizes, styles and colors. I chose the Fiore case and was able to easily order it off of Amazon. These cases are high-quality leather, and there is a color to fit every style. Added benefits include pockets for id, cards and cash, and full-functionality for my iPhone 4. Other sizes and styles can be found for additional types of phones. My last iPhone case was a the cheapest one I could pick up at a local discount store. It did the job, but was not nearly as functional, nor as beautiful as this. I love the feel, and the design and the...

Krill Oil Review

Krill Oil is made by Everest Nutrition. I must admit I was a little put off by the color, even though I know that is the color of Krill. It looks a little creepy, but the capsules make them tasteless and easy to swallow, and they are an amazing source of Omega 3’s. They also contain DHA, EPA and Astrazanthin. These ingredients are amazing for brain and heart health, and are also great antioxidants. I have tried multiple forms of Essential Fatty Acids – Omega 3’s, and this has to be the most adventurous and the highest quality that I have yet to find. Krill oil are made from the small animals called Krill that whales eat. Everest Nutrition sources their Krill Oil from the seas around Antarctica, and through a patented process extracts the oils and processes them for human use. It is more “bioavailable” than fish oil and...

I get to go to events and hand out an amazing product that I love. It is almost my dream job. 🙂 I love Jamba Juice not only for its nutrition, but their new vegetable and fruit only smoothies are perfect for my son with multiple food allergies. I get to help arrange fundraisers and sampling at events so, if you are having an event in Las Vegas and want free samples for your guests, please contact me at aliejudd@newswahl.com. #Sponsored ICE Blackbox App

*I was asked to review this product and received the app for free as well as payment for this post. As always, the views and opinions expressed are my own, and I would never recommend a product that I did not support and enjoy. ICE Blackbox App is an app designed to prevent bullying and other forms of assault. It is extremely easy to use, and easy to set-up. The app allows users to quickly dial 911, and to record the event which is then uploaded to a secure cloud network where predetermined contacts are instantly notified. GPS location is also recorded, and neither the victim, nor the assailant can delete the recordings. I was impressed by how easy this application is to set-up and use. It instantly takes you to the recording and dial 911 screen once the set-up process is completed.  Bullying is something that we worry about...

Closed: Udderly Smooth Gift Basket Giveaway

WELCOME TO OUR GREAT UDDERLY SMOOTH GIFT BASKET GIVE AWAY! My son has sensitive skin, as do most of my nieces and nephews. This is one of our favorite products as it is gentle on skin and can handle the toughest cases of dry skin and even diaper rash. It is definitely a product a would recommend and one that we have used. I will be working on my heels for sandal season, and my son will appreciate the extra protection for his skin as we will be swimming a lot this spring and summer. I love spring time, but it can certainly cause a lot of preparation behind the scenes on legs and body in order to get your legs and arms ready for their new exposure to shorts and tee shirts! Don’t forget it is also flip flop season which means time to take care of your dry...

Getting Myself Organized

I have big plans for this year. I have found that I adore blogging, and have made several great associations that will help me become a better blogger. I also have made some agreements to guest blog at other sites to improve my skills and allow me to focus on topics that I am passionate about. I am super excited to blog daily, and grow my knowledge and abilities this year as a blogger. Step one will be putting together a work station. I need a desk with great lighting. Nora lighting has some great desk lamp options that I love, and I will have to find or build a small desk with lots of cubbies and drawers to hold all my supplies. It should be a fun project. I just have two problems. One I have to stay healthy, and so does my family, which most days is okay,...

Closed: Sauna Giveaway and Healthy Habits

Every year we set the goal to not go to the ER that year. I have failed every year. This year, both my son and I have had to go to the ER, and it is only January. It looks like were in for another exciting year. I learned that the position and size of the back of your skull can cause or influence all kinds of neurodegenerative diseases, like multiple sclerosis, so I get to see a neurosurgeon next week, which should be exciting.?. Enough of the crazy medical that doesn’t even make sense to my doctor’s. If the contents of the above paragraph demonstrate anything it is that a lot of our health concerns are out of our control. However, there are many things we can do, and should do that can make a difference. The flu season is in full force and doctor’s offices, hospitals and ER’s...

Nature’s Sleep Slippers Review

I am officially a Natures’ Sleep blogger, which makes me all kind of giddy. With a chronic illness I practically live in bed, and so anything that makes that experience better is one that I am anxious to try. This month I had the opportunity to check out their slippers. They have become my new house shoes. I used to walk around barefoot a lot, but it is winter and my feet get cold. I love the open toe design that got to choose, and I enjoy that they are sturdy enough to wear outside to take out the trash or simple things like that, but gentle and warm for my feet. Mine are a pale blue, which is a color that I love, and that matches most of my pajamas. I keep them by the bed, and am developing the habit of slipping them on whenever I get out...

Starlooks Starbox – December

December’s Starbox is a glamorous array of eye shadows valued over $99. It is difficult for me to make use of such a luxurious commodity. As always I am pleased by the wide variety and yet universality of this palette. It has accent colors that I may never be brave enough to try, and then more neutral colors that I can’t wait to show off at our next holiday event. However, I think this particular Starbox will become a gift for a very special someone who will know how to use it to its’ utmost potential, as most of the variety and usability would be lost on a homebody like me. I am going to keep the name secret, but I am certain that the gift will be well-loved and used. I also am perfectly happy to share my collection as the previous looks have all provided me with everything...

Birthdays and Giveaways

Today was my son’s birthday party. We played with Legos. It was the easiest party ever. Legos, cake, and presents. They all had a blast and my son is overjoyed with all his new Lego sets. His Aspergers makes him obsessed with Legos, so today was his favorite day ever. He even got to go to Target and pick out some thanks to gift cards from friends. He was so excited he couldn’t stop jumping up and down this morning and now he is exhausted. I don’t want to fail to mention the tragedy in Connecticut, but it is so sad, that I don’t have words. My husband teaches at an elementary school. The fact that the world is becoming more and more dangerous terrifies me, yet somehow I still have faith that most people are good, there is a life after this, a God who looks after us, and...

Gogobot Review

My husband and I went on our honeymoon to San Francisco. We would love to go there again for our 10th anniversary this year. So when I learned about gogobot I was anxious to see what new things a romantic trip for two might have to offer. We may also decide to bring our son so he can have the opportunity to see the areas near where his Dad grew up and where we were first a married couple. San Francisco has amazing museums and gardens that he would adore. Either way, it is a dream trip, and one that we will eventually take. I would definitely stay at the Palace Hotel. It is a gorgeous hotel with amazing gardens, beautiful rooms, and great reviews. According to reviewers, it has a heated pool on the 4th floor, which we would love to use, High Tea at noon every day, and...

November Starlooks Review

I got the beautiful Starlooks box in the mail earlier this month, but due to family drama forgot about it completely. This collection was a set of personalized, neutral eye colors that will look great for all my upcoming holiday events. There is also a fun tool to help prevent smearing of eye make-up and mascara that I have yet to master, but love the concept. I am terrible at putting mascara on. The final addition is a lovely gloss lipstick. I am not a lipstick person. I can never find the right shade, but Starlooks has consistently sent me shades that I love and will wear out. I have a birthday coming up, and we go on a date to a movie and dinner. These items will definitely be on my list to wear. Starlooks is also having a fabulous promotion for a few more days for their December...

October 2012 Starbox Review

We loved the October Starbox. It came with a great gold eyeliner that I used to make the Harry Potter scar for my son’s Halloween costume, and will be using as a regular addition to my make-up. I also enjoyed the lipstick. It turns out it is the perfect shade of red for me, and I never wear red lipstick because I haven’t been able to find one I liked. They had eye tatoos which I am too chicken to use this year, but hope to use next year, and a glorious purple eye dust that I can’t wait to try some fun day. Starbox is offering their December box for only $15, and it is a $99 value. It will contain a great fifteen shade pro eye shadow palette! I love eye Shadow, and hope to get this one too. You can order it at www.starlooks.com As always, Starlooks...

Real Kids Shades Review

This fall we were the lucky recipients of some amazing sunglasses for my son. His Real Kids Shades are a great fit, stylish, and durable, which is their most attractive feature. I love the wrap-around band, and that they protect him from both UVA and UVB light. We have bought sunglasses in the past and they rarely offer this level of protection. I have learned that sun damages eyes like it does skin, and that children wearing sub-par sunglasses are at higher risk because the tinting causes their eyes to dilate and thus exposes them to more of the suns rays. It is also important that kids have coverage year-round, which I am guilty of just providing sunscreen and sunglasses during the summer. My son is extremely active and we live in Las Vegas, where it is sunny year round. It is important that he have protection for his eyes...

Campus Book Rentals – Get your Textbooks Cheaper!

School starts for me today. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology that I spent 10 years earning. It took me 10 years because in between I got really sick, married, had a baby, and finished up everything online. I am currently half-way through the school part of my Master’s Program, and I have a goal to finish that before I am 40. 🙂 Since I plan to also be a Certified Health Coach, a Certified Life Coach, a Marriage and Family Therapist, and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, this is a lofty goal. The hardest part about graduate school is the lack of Pell grants and scholarships. Student loans will be the end of me if I’m not careful, which is why I love the service from Campus Book Rentals. I am a book lover, and like to hold my books, read them, mark them up and then use...

Starlooks Lauren Bradley & Le Sang Bleu Review

I had the great pleasure of receiving a Starlooks Special Edition Starbox this week. It came beautifully packaged, with a signed and sealed note, and three amazing full-size beauty products from the Lauren Bradley Le Sang Bleu Collection. I love the colors and the luxury of the box and its’ design. I received a creme brilliance lip gloss in Pink Petal Rose, Sculpture infinity liner and a slanted eyeliner brush. All are so splendid in design and packaging that I loathe to use them. Starbox is a subcription service that features makeup products handpicked by Fashion Designers. This particular set features designs by Lauren Bradley. Toilet Tree Review

I was happy to receive a beautiful bathroom soap and toothbrush holder from Toilet Tree. As you can see it fits perfectly with the color of our bathroom. It is made of sustainable bamboo which we love. My husband is doing a unit on community awareness and we live in a desert. We are “water smart” and like to recycle and do little things to help conserve resources, so we love bamboo accessories in our home. We also love that it fits so nicely between our sinks, and is perfect for both of us to use. Bamboo is also naturally water-resistant and super easy to clean. Each piece is removable and can be cleaned thoroughly, which my OCD cleaning side loves! We have had a tiny adjustment period with the toothbrush holder as it is not mounted, or secured to the container and if we are going fast, or have...
